Rocket City bowl is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting Huntsville's LGBTQ+ community through the shared enjoyment of bowling. Your contribution helps us fulfill this mission. Additionally, your donation will aid us in giving back to our charities for 2024-2025; Thrive, The Trevor Project, Food Bank of North Alabama and A New Leash on Life.
Our Mission
At Rocket City Bowling League and Tournament, our mission is to create a vibrant and inclusive bowling community that brings people together. We are dedicated to promoting the sport of bowling through fun leagues and exciting tournaments for all skill levels.
Our mission is to to champion leadership in our community for LGBT+ equality in athletics.
Our League
Originally established in 1990, as the Red Ribbon Bowling Association, our bowling league is a member of the International Gay Bowling Organization (IGBO, since 1990), and the United States Bowling Congress (USBC).
Community Involvement!
The league was established to provide a safe place for LGBT bowlers to gather, socialize and make memories. We have been involved in donating time and money to what was then known as the Aids Action Coalition of Huntsville. Members of the league still continue to donate both their time and money to THRIVE Alabama and to various other charities in our community, just under a new umbrella Rocket City G-BLASTers (Gay, Bi, Lesbian, Straight, Trans) Bowling.
Our Vision
All activities are to be inclusive in nature and that no individual shall be excluded from participating based on sexual orientation, gender, gender identity or expression, race, religion or creed, nationality, ethnic origin, political beliefs, athletic ability, physical challenge, HIV status, veteran status, genetic information, age, or citizenship status.
The Rocket City G-BLASTers Bowling League promotes gender inclusion by allowing bowlers to self-identify gender.

Bowling League Meet and Greet
At Rocket City G-BLASTers Bowing League and Invitational Tournament, we pride ourselves on creating a fun and competitive environment for bowlers of all skill levels. Our league is designed to foster camaraderie while enhancing your bowling skills. Join us for weekly games, special events, and a chance to meet fellow bowling enthusiasts in the community.
Winter 2025 Season
WINTER 2024
Our Winter 2025 season will begin on January 27th, 2025. Each season runs for 16 weeks.

Time and Place
During our regular seasons (January-May 2025), we bowl on Monday nights at 5:50 pm, practice starts at 6:00 pm. Bowling is at Redstone Lanes, 424 Hercules Rd, Huntsville, AL 35898
Cost
Bowling cost $15.00 per week.
Registration
Come out and Join Huntsville’s only all-inclusive, bowling league. Our league is open to the entire community (LGBT, straight, and friends of the LGBT community).
Rocket City G-BLASTers Bowling is a member of the Red Ribbon Bowling Association, and a 20-year member of the International Gay Bowling Organization.
We are looking for bowlers of all skill levels. Emphasis on all skill levels. Our league is a social league, we want you to enjoy bowling, socialize, and have fun.
Singles and couples welcome (must be 18 years or older as of 1 August 2024.
Redstone Arsenal Recreation Pass

Redstone Arsenal provides non-affiliated community members the opportunity to utilize installation Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) facilities and services.
Bowlers must request the pass at the VCC in person. Recreation badge holders may access Gates 8 or 9 between the hours of 5:30 a.m. and 10:30 p.m. Individuals in possession of a recreation badge are not authorized to escort other adult personnel onto the installation. Recreation Visitor badges provide limited access to the following MWR recreational facilities and activities:
- Golf/Frisbee Golf Course;
- Redstone Lanes Bowling Center;
- Redstone Arsenal Conference Centers;
- ACS Welcome center / JAVA Café;
- Recreation Area (parks);
- Sports Fields / Complexes, with prior coordination with MWR;
- Cycling.
